Excuse me, I'm making perfect sense, you're just not keeping up

my cat's sanity is pastede on yay; or, the Thursday Randomness Hour
Snapshot of two cats who still don't exactly get along particularly well: Weasel gave up on getting a "real" breakfast while I'm attached to the computer and went to eat kibble... and as I happened to glance towards the feeding area, there's Snip crouched about 18 inches away, hunched up into the very manifestation of "...Go ahead. Eat it. See if I care... And I spat in it."

Snip has lately taken to staring at the artwork on the wall above Mum's computer. Presumably she's watching reflections on the glass from the windows on the other side of the room, but who really knows. At least she doesn't seem to hang around over there when Mum's at the computer, which is rather odd considering that when I'm at mine Snip likes to curl up in the desk tray on top of the tape and the baggie of rubber bands and the stapler and the string of pearls and the box of 3.5" floppies and god knows what-all else. One would think that it would be lumpy, especially because it's actually a silverware-tray with compartments, but she seems content.

Finally got to meet the Lovely And Talented febrile at Tuesday's LJ MeetUp, yay! Pity the venue was so bleepin' noisy. (And yes, I am still sitting around and poking the query letter with a stick.)

The thing that concerns me about the local-politics scandal du jour is that Ryan was naive enough to think that "sealed" means "sealed" when you're running for office. The public has a right to know, indeed a responsibility to try to find out, if a candidate for something as important as the Senate has anything in his/her past that could, god forbid, be scandalous enough that the theoretical Senator Ryan could be blackmailed into compliance with the threat of its disclosure by Nefarious Parties. Heck, wasn't that part of the publicly stated rationale for impeaching Clinton? It shows questionable judgement on Ryan's part that he thought he could just sweep something with salaciously embarassing details under the rug like that.

...Oh, right, I forgot, it's only bad when Democrats do it. Never mind.

Strange dreams lately. Like, "Aaron Burr and a bag of sugar" strange. (I think the sugar gave him superpowers so he could go shoot Alexander Hamilton. Or something.) This sort of thing is why I don't keep a dream-diary...

Yup, it was a real "...damn, fell asleep watching anime again" sort of a dream. The sugar power-up made Burr shoot out this sparkly orange ball of Hamilton-seeking light... {shudder}

Scary, I was thinking something along similar lines, but with the word "web" omitted. Almost makes me wish I could draw....
