the Passion of Kitty Genovese - Diary of a Necromancer
Excuse me, I'm making perfect sense, you're just not keeping up
the Passion of Kitty Genovese
Last night on "Idiot Neighbor Theater": we learned that Jeremy suspects his lady-friend of infidelity, a charge she tearfully swears "by her mother" is untrue. Also, that neither of them has the sense not to carry on an argument in front of an open window at 1:45 AM. God, I hate these people. It's incredibly disturbing to have to be privy to random strangers' domestic disputes, especially in this day and age where one is painfully aware of all the statistics about how often this sort of thing escalates into bloodshed. Keeping the hours that I do, I live in terror that one of these days it's going to fall to me to be the one who has to figure out that the shouting's gone beyond a simple argument into The Night Somebody Ought To Have Called The Cops.

The worst part is that this appears to be an entirely new set of Idiot Neighbors from the ones who had been plaguing me previously. The Ungrateful Felix and his loudmouthed consort have yet to make an appearance this spring, but the Transom Trash Talkers are still at it, and though somewhat subdued of late since the night somebody else called the cops on them, the Potheads Upstairs still clomp up and down the back stairs at odd hours.

And since after all that I feel I ought to end on a lighter note, now there's a site that serves up random images recently posted onto LJ. It's rather like flipping channels reallyreallyfast for that surrealist montage effect.

(Interesting statistic uncovered while sifting through my back-issues for the links in today's entry: my journal's grade level has gone up.)

I hope it won't be going up anymore! I've been learning English (with bad results) for around 13 years. It makes 7th grade.. I guess (just as my journal), so this is my level of full text comprehension ;)
