Hokay, so this is the best image I managed to get and it's only a furry arse (now have cameraphone, but aim, notsomuch), but I did have plenty of time to observe it at a distance of 15-20', scampering about on a raft of crap that's caught against a bend in the river just at a bridge, and I will now state with confidence that we do indeed have wildlife tonier than skunks and deer in them thar woods. So, cool.
As to the ongoing negotiations with Muse RE that potential story, she's at least got as far as suggesting that one point of entry to something resembling Plot or Conflict might be the fact that after a period of separation that's actually longer than their time together as a married couple got to be, the potential Narrator is trying to find a genteelly edwardian way to express the sentiment "You. Clothes. Off. Now.", and unexpectedly running into his trauma-and-vampirism-related reluctance to get back into his life... I'm really not sure what to do with this, especially given that it'd fall under a specifically yellow-flagged section of the guidelines for that particular anthology, but Muse does seem to love a challenge.
