WHAT THE - Diary of a Necromancer
Excuse me, I'm making perfect sense, you're just not keeping up
George just drained his battery stone-dead and switched himself off WHILE HE WAS PLUGGED INTO THE WALL. I mean, WTF, man??

I'm going to guess that the power connector is dying -- broken solder joint or something -- and sometimes it'll charge and sometimes it won't actually see any power coming in because of the break, depending on how the cord is hanging.

Thing is, he's basically been tethered as a desktop all his life, so it's not like his power-cord ever sees any mechanical stress; if it's something that can arise naturally over time just from entropy and decay, then yeah, that seems like a possibility. It's happened a few times over the years (which is why I have the 'technowhinging' tag...), that his battery will suddenly be missing a large chunk of its charge, but this is the first time he's run down flat while I was working -- I didn't even get a warning, for pete's sake, I thought at first it was that other thing he does sometimes...
