Excuse me, I'm making perfect sense, you're just not keeping up

3.) Name one scar your character has, and tell us where it came from. If they don’t have any, is there a reason?

Jason is fortunate, considering that his chosen field involves heat and sharp objects, that turning into a wolf once a month tends over time to wear away the lingering traces of any injury short of something that requires actual reparative surgery (such as the bite-wounds to his mother's right hand); at any given time he'll usually have a scab or two where he's cut or burnt his hands and forearms, but ask him again in a few months and he'll shrug and claim really good skin.

Trevor does have one scar that's of particular concern to him: on his left bicep, there's a faint dimpled mark about the size of a shilling. What someone who looks to have been born some good many years after developed countries declared victory and stopped administering routine jabs is doing with that well-worn smallpox vaccination scar would be an interesting question for him to have to answer...

Muse has actually showed up to work these past few days. This may still end in another three weeks of quizzical-dog looks, but maybe I'll end up having something to show for November yet...

The good news is that in another decade or two, no-one will know the significance of the scar to question it ... it's already the sort of thing that's slipping of the average person's radar. (And they were still vaccinating people who traveled in the Third World until the late Seventies - he could claim a missionary background, or something.)

They'd have to be some deep-cover missionaries, though, 'cos his current paperwork gives a DOB that makes it more than a little weird when he grumbles about Margaret Thatcher... It's more likely that until about 2025 people would assume that his parents were just really freaked out after 9/11 and the anthrax attacks (some first-responders and military who were too young to have got it as a childhood thing had it done then as a precaution against bioterrorism), but there's still that problem that he would be uncomfortable with coming up with a cover-story if the question were put to him directly. In the long run, yeah, he's mostly just going to wait until he's outlived the generations who would recognize it, but there's still going to be a period in which it will be more and more conspicuous to those people in the know that he should be far too young to have one.
