Excuse me, I'm making perfect sense, you're just not keeping up
writerly geekitude moments
This quiz is quite interesting -- I came out at 41% Yankee, which I gather is just into the Northerner end of bland newscaster American. Chicago is specifically mentioned as a regional influence on several of my answers, and I can't help but wonder if the relatively low Yankeeness of my score has anything to do with the influx into the city of southern blacks during the last century...? I have noticed before that we have a distinguishable accent of our own around here (such as we have trouble with "nt", especially in the middles of words where it slurs into "n-n"), but I hadn't given much thought to specific dialect variations we might sport as compared to Generic Newscaster standards. Hm, food for thought...

feeling: pondering

I got 44% Yankee- so many of my answers had to do with the East coast, even though I've never lived there. I blame my mother's Long Island heritage.
