...And the first one says "...Oh, were you gone?" gets it. - Diary of a Necromancer
Excuse me, I'm making perfect sense, you're just not keeping up
...And the first one says "...Oh, were you gone?" gets it.
Home again, home again, jiggety-jig. Which... may come as a surprise since I hadn't actually mentioned that I was going to WisCon. (Thereby faking out the Brainweasels, who were insisting that if I did say anything about it before I was standing in the hotel with a badge and a room-key that it would all fall through horribly, but startling the hell out of a couple of people.) Having been got to, hosted, and then got home by a number of generous parties whom I'll allow to step forward or not as their preference may be, I managed to put together one of the best weekends out I've had since... well, more or less the last time I was able to get up to WisCon, I think. Reeeeally need to Get Out More.

I like WisCon because it's the closest thing to a full-on academic conference that a layperson like me can understand and keep up with; I happily spent the entire con (...no, srsly, the entire con, barring two sparsely-populated slots) in panels relating to various aspects of the current Project, as well as having submitted it to the writing-workshop, and I have much much chewy food for thought to absorb, including the elusive answer to why every character in it except one has turned up with a very specific ethnic identity and the significance of the fact that that one didn't, and now that I've mucked out the inbox it's time to sort out as much of the rest of what goes to hell in my absence as I can before I go fall down somewhere for a while, because I've voluntarily and spontaneously woken up at 7:15 the last few days running and this is not natural.

Also, I think Inner Trevor and Inner Jason owe me two bucks.

Nah, we are totally in the closet about giving you rides.

What's the second book? I can't read the font from here.

[Googles, because the book is in decontamination and I'm not going out to the kitchen again until I get myself to GO EAT, dammit...] "Less Than Human: Why We Demean, Enslave and Exterminate Others" by David Livingstone Smith. Looked interesting, and I realized looking at it sitting on top of the book about goats that it's totally the sort of thing that Trevor would be caught reading...

It was *awesome* getting to see you! If only for a few minutes here and there...

And I have to confess it's been long enough I went, "...Oh, [BADGEname]!" at first...

From other reports on my flist/circle/timeline, I heard this WisCon was a goodie. Glad that the Current Project got a shot in the arm thanks to the panels there! Possibly this is a con I should look into going to myself.

Glad that you could make it! ^__^ Nice surprise seeing you there. I'm interested in that second book, looking forward to your thoughts on it.
