Mmm, venison - Diary of a Necromancer
Excuse me, I'm making perfect sense, you're just not keeping up
Mmm, venison
Survived the first day of training proper without being thrown out and/or asked to step into the van by the Nice Men In The Jackboots, so job is apparently going okay so far. Session was basically the "The first rule of Census is you do not talk about Census" lecture about keeping people's identifiable info private, which means that if, say, I happen to find out that there's a celebrity living in my neighborhood I don't get to tell anyone. Not that I would imagine this is a neighborhood where that's likely to come up, or at least everybody knows which one's Blagojevich's house already from it being on the freaking news. So, instead of Celebrity Hijinx, have some candid shots from the nature preserve:

It does appear to be spring.

Intimidating, but not a swan, dude.

...Duck pond, mate. Ducks. Yeah.

Although this is not a duck either.

I think this is the same scruffy specimen I saw begging crisps from tourists the last time I was over here. He smelled like a bum.

Which may be why most of his mates were down the other end of the park.

The buildings on the grounds were built around WWI. So...

...Yeah. The Unfortunate Implications came later.

I would have seriously considered stealing one of those babies. Jeebus, the cute is insane.

Also, is it bad that when you said 'nature preserve' I assumed you meant your neighborhood, what with all of the animal activity of late?

It's kind of the same thing, really... :) (The nature preserve proper is about a mile up the road, but the boundaries do seem to... blur.)

Ooh! Canada geese! We used to raise them (we kept them all as pets) and they are as loving and loyal as any dog. If I ever have the space again, I will make sure I have some around:) Thank you for making my world go warm and fuzzy. For a while:)

That's not actually a swaztika. It's some sort of wheel of life-type of symbol in the vein of some sort of old-world religion. I forget the details and I'm too lazy to look them up. The Nazis stole it.

Hehehe, I know that, but not everybody there did, and I could hear some subdued Hilarity trying to Ensue... ;)
