the telly is dead, long live the telly - Diary of a Necromancer
Excuse me, I'm making perfect sense, you're just not keeping up
the telly is dead, long live the telly
Kalloo, kallay, a new television has been procured. Through a combination of discontinuation and open-boxness we've managed to lay hands on a flat-panel of roughly the same dimensions as the perfidious tube for a price that, well, we didn't exactly have to spare, per se, but is only going to make, say, the gas bill late as opposed to the mortgage, and as I am obviously here to tell the tale didn't involve trading in Mum's firstborn for it either. And it is red, which I rather approve of. The only real downside to the new setup is that at 10.14 lbs this tabletop flat-panel is lighter than the cat, and must therefore be strapped to the tabletop with garish bungee cords until we either work out some better way to secure the damn thing from her tipping it off onto the floor, or get a more agile cat. Harrumph, I say. Harrumph.

Also, never go in Best Buy right after it opens in the morning. All the salespeople are bored and will try to be "helpful".
