*stresses* - Diary of a Necromancer
Excuse me, I'm making perfect sense, you're just not keeping up
Really, really not liking the undertones to the computer's noises lately, and still too broke to do a damn thing about it. I expect one of these days the next post here is going to be about trudging through the snow Uphill Both Ways to get my email at the library, unless somebody wants to step in now to help me make some in-case-of-emergency arrangements for access...?

feeling: aggravated aggravated

Any idea on the cost of a repair?

Well, the bench-fee to check the little guy in at the Mothership for a look is $80, and then god only knows what's specifically at issue in there; basically a Mac Mini only has three moving parts that I could be hearing, and when it was the HD that failed that was $300 to replace. Fans are probably cheaper to fix, but I'm starting to think that he's just turned 4 and he's been in the shop twice now, so a new Mac would probably be the sensible way to go as opposed to throwing another whack of cash at repairs... which is kind of academic when there isn't the $$ for either course. {sigh} Just once I'd like to replace a computer before it literally dies out from under me, dammit...
