Have I mentioned the computer's fixation with Really Gay Disco? All righty, then. - Diary of a Necromancer
Excuse me, I'm making perfect sense, you're just not keeping up

Have I mentioned the computer's fixation with Really Gay Disco? All righty, then.
Brain has been wandering around in circles going "...Ooh, shiny!" all night instead of whatever the hell I originally sat down here to do (the knitting newsletter, I strongly suspect), so I think I'll just distract it with a meme and try again in the morning:

Put your music player on shuffle, and write down the first line of the first twenty songs. Post the poem that results. The first line of the twenty-first song is the title.

Your cheatin' heart
The heart is a bloom
I've got the moves baby, you got the motion
Ground Control to Major Tom

Baby, baby, baby
(Hey man) oh leave me alone you know
It's not easy having yourself a good time
Don't go for second best baby

Hello, hello again
Once upon a time in a land called Fantasy
I know when to go out
Hey little sister what have you done

Zephyr in the sky at night I wonder
Bright light city gonna set my soul
This bloody road remains a mystery
Every time I think of you

I am the son
I want those who get to know me
If you leave, don’t leave now
Do you remember a guy that's been

I know all there is to know

...Gee, parts of that are almost coherent.

feeling: amused amused

Yeah, but considering he also managed to hit Bowie four times, Madonna three, and even got into the Adam Ant, well... ;)

Okay, I officially love this meme, and could play it for hours. My first attempt stood up pretty well until the third verse....

I Know a Girl Who Should Never Be Alone

Well I wish I was in London (or some other seaport town)
I had my chance and I let it go
An inflatable doll, ten inches tall
Working all day for a mean little man

My name is Ariel, and I want to be free
Like the latest fashion
Hey now, my red clouds are rolling in
She was a tiger from the lonely street

Instant karma’s gonna get you
Ain’t it just like the night…?
We’re gonna break out the wine, my dear;
Squirrels. All we really are is squirrels.

You’re as tight as a hunter’s trap
Good golly, Miss Molly, sure like to ball
Go away from my window, leave at your own chosen speed,
Just walkin’ in the rain, getting soaking wet.

Okay, here is my version (also placed on my page)

Here we Go:

Title: (21st song, and beautifully appropriate)
This this the real life? Is this just fantasy?

Well, my friends are gone and my hair is gray
Didn't I say I wasn't ready for romance?
Atiendeme, quiero decir te algo
Many types came to see the picture
When I get off of this mountain, you know where I want to go

The lady comes to the gate, dressed in lavender and leather
I paid my dues, time after time
The nights grow cold, my search for gold is leading nowhere.
Ah now, I love a girl and-a Ruby is her name.
It hadn't for Cottoneyed Joe, I'd been married long time ago.

Who by fire, who by water?
I can see very well, there's a boat on the reef with a broken back
Why does Saigon never sleep at night?
I pulled into Nazereth, I was feeling 'bout half past dead
The last train is nearly due, the underground is closing soon

The problem is all inside your head, she said to me.
Love hurts, love scars, love wounds and mars
Hey, Momma dis dat shit that make you move,
I heard there was a secret chord that David played and it pleased the Lord.
Ah, for just one time, I would take the Northwest Passage
