Aww, @!##$... - Diary of a Necromancer
Excuse me, I'm making perfect sense, you're just not keeping up
Aww, @!##$...

Well, crap; the larger of the two dark blobs, shown here with a penny for approximate scale, was until about ten minutes ago the last bulwark standing between me and something in the "running around screaming" family of dentistry. (The smaller one parted company with me on Sunday.) And my dentist, as previously noted, is in Thailand right now... The seven-day forecast is for intensifying squalls of bitterness accompanied by flurries of self-pity, with a small chance of drunk-posting if I should break down and call the dentist's office to beg for the Good Drugs before the appointment I already had next Wednesday. Just what I always wanted for xmas, a root canal... {sigh}

feeling: GRAIIIRGH!!!

If you want to try and see a dentist soon, I highly recommend mine. Dr. David Rozen. He's in the CBOT building downtown. 312/427-2490

He's excellent with fearful patients and gentle.

What in the world are the blobs? I'm scared to ask, but have to know!

Call your dentists office and get an earlier appointment... seriously, whatever those blobs are, I consider them a dental emergency.

From the BB-like clank, they're the remains of an ancient amalgam filling that must have been left sitting there like the core of an eroded volcano when the side of of the tooth started to spall away... Fortunately or unfortunately as the case may be, the tooth itself seems to have severed its ties with its nerve some months ago, so since my regular dentist won't be home until Monday, the office cautiously agreed with me that sticking with the Wednesday appointment's probably good enough unless something even weirder happens to it. I won't say I'm not nervous, especially since this has "OMGRootCanal!" written all over it, but so long as it doesn't actually hurt, as such, I'm willing to wait for the dentist I like to get back from her vacation, rather than have to break in a new one...
