well, you know what they say...
My contribution to the Advancement of Knowledge and SCIENCE! for the day: Ten's feet are size 12 (UK or US sizing not specified though). And yes, I am (at least one of) the idiot(s) who asked them that, my defense being that it seemed important to know at the time.

(General update on my fannish state of mind at the moment: I will say that The Idiot's Lantern was the first episode where I felt myself not being disappointed that Ten wasn't still Nine; whether this is from Tennant finding his sea legs in the role, or the writers having run through the last of the script ideas that were under production before the changeover, is hard to say, but it does make me feel a little better about the overall prospects for the rest of Ten's run.)

feeling: geeky geeky

The thing I found really unnerving about "The Idiot's Lantern" was that the Wire was a dowdy looking woman, like someone who would be in a commercial for dishwasher detergent. I always get a little freaked when I hear evil about of unsuspecting archetypes. Like there's this woman who has a conservative talk show on WGN named Terry O'Brien (I think). She has a really pleasant voice, but when she spews forth on how great it is to torture terrorist suspects and shit like that, I'm disturbed.

I was watching it thinking, "where have I seen this actress before? She kind of has a Miss Minchin-y vibe..." Then I looked it up and that's exactly where I've seen her before, playing Miss Minchin in the 1986 BBC Little Princess...

Squee! I had been wondering what size they were... I never would have seen the question at the end. :-) I'm sure that's UK size.

The Idiot's Lantern: It get's better. Soooo much better.

So I've heard, but I've been rationing myself and only watching via SciFi... ;) (The temptation to bingeTorrent is very, very strong, but I remember this one time I ate an entire tray of baklava instead of saving some for later -- the only good thing, if you could say that, about waking up the next day and realizing that I didn't have any more baklava left was that at that point I never wanted to see baklava again...)

I can't bear to watch them on sci fi with commercials and are they cutting bits? The next two eps are amazing (Impossible Planet and Satan Pit) and really should be watched all at once. So, torrent away if you ask my opinion.
