skullduggery - Diary of a Necromancer
Excuse me, I'm making perfect sense, you're just not keeping up
Operation Breadbox is at an exciting stage: according to our instruments, the bakery truck has spent a whole fun-filled weekend in LaGrange and ought to be disgorging the Bun at the rendezvous-point in Forest Park sometime today. Not sure yet exactly when I'm going to get the go-ahead for the hostage transfer...

Meanwhile, I've been spending a fun-filled weekend grappling with the unexpected depths of my resentment over Ariel Sharon's medical care. My father had exactly the same kind of stroke, for pretty much exactly the same reasons (overweight and on bloodthinners), yet because my father wasn't a head of state, the medical personnel basically threw up their hands and said, well, hey, nothing really we can do, sorry kid. Which is probably true, medically speaking, but the reduction of who even gets a chance and who doesn't to their position in society seems a little perverted. (Not that my father was doing much more with his life than taking up space, but still.)

So I've been vaguely upset since Thursday, waiting around to see if Sharon dies, feeling like a ghoul for doing it but somehow like that would, at least, be Justice, on some level -- that no matter if you're Prime Minister or just some weird trainspotter geek, there are some things you can't argue with. And if Sharon lives, well, I'm not sure what I'm going to think. But I bet if he dies, that Hadassah Medical Center isn't going to accidentally lose Ariel Sharon's body... (Really long story. Probably should have sued, but in the end we decided he would have thought it was funny.)

BTW, local types: anyone want a size 14 trenchcoat? Just found it in our closet and I'm not going to fit back into it in this lifetime...

feeling: unsettled
