Did I mention I finally got a Camera-Equipped Mobile Device...?
Housecleaning is at "wandering around muttering oh dear god" stage. But at least having gathered ALL THE HARDWARE into the same place has led Mum to have a breakthrough RE conceding that possibly we do have more screws and fasteners than we'll ever need/use and the population can be thinned into a smaller receptacle... It's almost too embarrassing even to do a series of progress pictures, so have some miscellaneous photos instead:

At long last, the proof that there are large turtles in the river. I think they probably are just snappers.

Went for a walk on one of those freakishly nice days a month ago and these flowers were in bloom in the woods. So far my google-fu has failed me RE an identification -- anyone?

Extra point for figuring out what's wrong with this picture. Hint: see "freakishly nice days", above.

The daffodils have already been and largely gone, when they shouldn't really even have bloomed for another few weeks. Inner Trevor has been grumbling.

Visual proof that I am easily amused.

I am... kind of glad that this architectural detail isn't on my house.

The flowers look like buttercups, though the leaves aren't like the buttercups I'm familiar with. *is prodding Wikipedia with a stick*

Those look like marsh marigolds, also called kingcup -- Caltha palustris

1) I think that those are snappers, although the range is too great to be certain.
2) No idea, sorry.
3) Way too early for pear blossoms.
4) Nice daffodil.
5) Me, too.
6) That is a rather ominous raven/eagle thing...
7) :]

3 -- On the nosie. All of the apples and pears came out in the middle of March, though since it hasn't rained much either they've hung on for much longer than usual (I haven't been out since the rain over the weekend, they're probably knocked to pieces now). The lilacs are blooming, for pete's sake -- aren't they, like, May?

6 -- I always thought it was a vulture. I have been accused in my day of having a somewhat dark outlook on life, though. :)
