9.) Who does your character trust?

[Jason wanted to tell this one himself:]

It's kind of a stupid question when the only answer I could give is pack, isn't it. Okay, I guess maybe there are different kinds of trust, like I trust my teachers to show me the best ways to cut up a chicken, but so far as who you absolutely know would have your back, that has to be Mom and Dad and everybody. (Even when it might only be because it's something that they couldn't let you down on without it landing on their own neck too, that still counts, right?)

Trev is looking at me like he's still way too British to admit that he's kind of hurt. "I said pack," I point out.

He sort of blinks, like he's thinking that over again, and then he does that thing where you can almost see him deciding that it would be less uncomfortable and weird just to change the subject to something safe like cricket. "Erm, well, I reckon I'd say that I trust Max," he says after considering for a while.

(For all that he's over a hundred sometimes he's got all the social skills of a rump-roast. No idea if that's about them or just him or if he's just British.) "I'll remember you said that the next time I have to pick up your shit in the park," I say.

Cool, I didn't know he could turn that color. "It's, just, how do you quantify... You lock the doors, you haven't blown up the house yet, I wouldn't even want you to put yourself in the position Max puts himself in for --"

For Trevor, this is perilously close to Expressing An Emotion In Front Of Someone. I let him off the hook with a grin. "I love you too, man."
