Things I Didn't Need, volume MCXVII
Crapfire, the DSL has been suspended because the bill was due last Saturday. The irritating part of this is that Mum already called and arranged to pay it on Friday (IE today) when SHE gets paid. I'm assuming that the reason I still have a signal at the moment is that I was logged in before it went poof (I discovered that it had when it did its log-you-off-email-for-security thing and I got an Explanatory Splashpage instead of reconnecting), so once I switch George off for the day here it's probably No TV And No Beer until we can get this sorted properly... Argh. I'd say "if anybody needs me give me a ring", but... um, yeah.

(The fascinatingly idiotic part of this, BTW, is that I only know for sure that my internet access is suspended because I found it out on the internet. If I hadn't been logged in when they switched it off, I'd have been left scratching my head as to why it wasn't working the next time I booted up...)

[UPDATE: six-odd hours and a call to the specific number for DSL issues, which had to be placed some four hours after the one to the main number making the payment resolved Mum's mobile also being out but not my issue, later, matters seem to be sorted. I am going to go fall down now, because I'd originally logged on to do one quick thing before I went to bed...]

Clear is my Internet provider.
The last time I needed to contact them, I had to wait for morning when their phone support was open. At that time they told me I should have used their text-chat support, which is available 24/7.

"So if my Internet goes down, the best way to get support is via text-chat over the Internet?"
"Yes."
"Really?"
