Okay, so, have not been stoned to death yet, so presuming that little venture is going over well enough... Meanwhile, who out there amongst my local readers would be up for a Field Trip this Saturday morning?

Six Nations rugby on telly at the Globe pub (on Irving Park a couple blocks W from the Brown Line stop) -- 8:30 am Saturday March 20th, Wales v. Italy @ Millennium Stadium, Cardiff

I know the cube root of fuck-all about rugby myself, but guys piling on each other in the mud is generally entertaining in and of itself, and I am somewhat in need of distracting from that impending 40 thing... The game should be over around 11 am, so I was thinking we could slope next door to the Orange Garden for Chinese for lunch?

Oo, muddy blokes -- erm, rugby! I am...

...Sounds great fun! BBC America have been broadcasting the Six Nations rugby.

Yeah, I watched one while I was waiting for the guy to show up to look at the water heater -- unfortunately they're only showing the games in the 11am slots, though.

I would be up but I am currently battling a sinus infection and don't know if I'll be in any shape to do much come this weekend. We watched some of Saturday's England-Scotland game and it wasn't that bad. No hot players, though...

I was thinking of going, and I think MJ was too. Gluttony of St. Patrick's Day and then cute men.. I mean good rugby? It's going to be a hell of a week!! Let me know if you want a ride, it will be less of a TARDIS this time.

A ride would probably help ensure that I got there some time before the game was over, yeah...

A ride will be fine. Just need to figure out a time, and should get good seats. How early does the pub open?

...You know, I have no idea and there are no hours listed anywhere on their site that I can find. Dropped them an email, we'll see if this is going to come off at all... :(

(I do imagine that they'd probably be open by 8 if they're open on a Saturday morning. They may just never close, who knows....)

...OK, they say they open at 7 -- I'd say we should probably get there around 8?

I'm in! Carole & I were already talking about that. Which means I need to get my bibliography and abstract for cataloging done on Friday, cuz then Sunday is Barrowman on the Housewives! :D

Yeah, did sort of remember the rugby thing with you... ;) Bummer about the scheduling, all the games have been Saturdays.
